 | CAPE HENRY COLLEGIATE ALUMNI FACULTY SUMMER GRANT PROGRAM
Established in 2004, the Alumni Faculty Summer Grant Program is sponsored by the Cape Henry Collegiate Alumni Association. Because Cape Henry values its teachers and cares about the classroom environment in which Cape Henry students learn, the alumni designed an exciting, quality, professional growth program that allows faculty members per summer to travel abroad to destinations of their choosing. Proposals are judged on merit and may consist of travel plans that include worldwide conferences, continuing education at major universities throughout the world, or creative internships anywhere in the world.
As Dr. Lewis stated, “Providing faculty these exciting travel opportunities, with personal reflective time, a great opportunity for personal growth, and the expansion of their own personal knowledge base, will allow returning faculty to enrich their students’ lives and enhance each of their students’ daily classroom experience. Our alumni care about and remember the faculty who were so instrumental in their own growth and development. By implementing such a grant program, they are also rewarded by the knowledge that they have enriched, not only the lives of their former teachers, but the lives of so many future students - some of them, their very own children.” |
